AC Maintenance FAQ
How often should my AC unit be maintained?
What kind of regular maintenance can I do myself?
To help maintain your AC system, homeowners are encouraged to regularly inspect their unit for ice buildup around coils, the consistency of the airflow, and the effectiveness of the cooling throughout the house. By detecting issues early on, homeowners can save thousands without having to repair or replace worsened issues.
If I notice ice buildup in my AC unit, what should I do?
If you find ice on or around the coils or other parts of your AC unit, turn off the AC and leave the fan running. The AC will still run air through the unit while thawing out the built up ice. This process usually takes anywhere from 4 - 6 hours, which is when you can fully power your AC back on.
