Now that it is hot, it is time to maintain your AC

Now that it is hot outside, it is important to maintain your air conditioner so you can stay cool and comfortable inside your home.  There are some simple steps you can take to help keep your AC working efficiently.

1. Keep your filter clean.  A clean filter will improve airflow which is vital to the operation of your AC.
2. Make sure all your supply air vents are open and not restricted.  Air flow is vital to the proper operation of your AC!
3. Keep dirt, debris and plants away from your outdoor unit.  An AC relies on being able to exchange heat.  A blocked or dirty unit will impede that process.
4. Run your system at a reasonable temperature.  Trying to go below 72 degrees will cause many systems to potentially freeze up.  A frozen evaporative coil on an AC will not work and everyone is frustrated.
5. Make sure your system is professionally maintained each season so any issues can be identified and taken care of before a breakdown. 

As you properly maintain your system, you will be able to enjoy cool comfortable time indoors on hot summer days and nights!
