Cleaning your air ducts
Most air ducts are dirty even when the home is brand new. Unless someone actively works to protect the air duct system after it is installed, it becomes the easiest place to sweep construction debris into. Older homes air ducts are loaded with years worth of dust and dirt.
To get them clean takes specialized equipment and expertise. We use a system that works better than all the others we have tried.

First we isolate the supply ducts from the return. Second we hook up a large 5,000 CFM suction machine and put part of the system under a deep vacuum. Third we run a high pressure air whip through each duct and “push” the dirt and debris towards the suction. This gets most of the dirt but not all. Fourth we run a spinning brush down each duct and scrub whatever remaining dirt back to the vacuum. We then do this again for the other half of the system.
This allows us to thoroughly clean the air ducts and get them back to better than new! We also clean the furnace at the same time.

How long should I go between duct cleanings?
Dust, grime, and debris can accumulate faster than you'd imagine. With air constantly flowing through your ducts, that means so are micro particulates that begin to buildup the moment your ducts are clean.
Even with air purification systems installed in the house, ductwork is recommended to be cleaned every 3 - 5 years (more depending on your home and location).
